We recently had a fun review from Leicester Bangs in the UK.
I am very grateful to the good folks at this fine site!
They pointed out that I have no clue as to what category of music I play.
I had made mailing stickers for all the promotional CD’s I sent out of “Meet me in the Park” calling our music “quirky alternative rock with melodic harmony”. Zoikes! I hadn’t realized how off I was. I was unaware how acutely compartmentalized and sub categorized classifying music is. I think I need a chart with graphic explanations. In my glorified view of MBB, I see a touch of the hillbilly I deeply wish I were, a touch of the cowboy my foot wear suggests I am, a touch of loud as per my hair, and a touch pretty folk song melody that my apparent hippie free spirited soul is.
I wish I had the ability to aim when I write. My songs, blogs and stories seem to drift like larval squid. They can swim strait, but the world is so big and it takes us to unexpected places. I admit I love this more than a falafel with hot sauce, more than potato chips with hot sauce and even more than guacamole (with hot sauce).
I think y’all should help. I’d love to hear your view of how to classify this here music I make.
Careful though, I am sensitive. I am a pisces after all!
The best response gets a free “Meet me in the Park” CD mailed to them.

OK, I hope this isn’t wrong, cause really I’m old and lame haha, but your music reminds me of the old Classic British Pop, when I was a kid. I hear a little of “The Monkey’s” influence, their are other bands I can’t remember the name of but that is your sound to me. I love it.
Don’t take this wrong because I don’t mean it literally but it reminds me of watching those old Monkey’s shows, and the (DayDream Believer) and the Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, the old Beatles cartoons, HR Puff n Stuff- hahah I’m dating my self…
